Meet the Counselors

William Lacy has been counseling individuals, couples, and families since 2010. With more than 10 years of experience, Mr. Lacy is currently the only African America male in the area who specializes in mental health.

He has worked with children, teenagers, and adolescents in residential, school, and office settings. Mr. Lacy also facilitates support groups for teenage/adolescent girls who are struggling with anxiety-related issues (friends, self-image, social-media, family, school, etc).

Growing up with 13 siblings, Mr. Lacy developed the skill to listen and accept the opinion and perspective of multiple people. He worked at local gasoline stations and used to go home with questions about why people do or say the things they did.

To satisfy his curiosity, Mr. Lacy began reading psychology books, watching counseling videos, and attending workshops. He also decided to enroll in the psychology program at the Kankakee Community College.

Mr. Lacy earned his MAMFT in Marriage and Family Therapy at North Central University in 2018. He is currently a Post Graduate Candidate in Child and Adolescent Therapy at North Central University in Prescott, Arizona. Also, Mr. Lacy is in supervision with Lisa Moss, LCSW.
